The Map As History, A site which offers a personalized multimedia atlas of world history.

The Map As History is a website offering a personalized multimedia atlas of world history. May it be the birth of the United States, the War of Independence, the First World War, or the Ancient Greece, the interactive maps will make it fun for every students (and parents!) to learn about History. The animated and interactive maps go back in time and our host tells all the historical facts that mapped our world's most important events.

According to the latest survey, 80% Americans don't know where Afghanistan is located on a world map. Now that History will soon be added to the National testing, we believe the timing is perfect to take the initiative to provide a cross-curricular resource, entirely web based, which will help every students to be ready not only for the testing, but for their own personal knowledge and interests.

Understanding the geographies of past times is as important as understanding the geography of the present. Via Map as History, your students will appreciate that viewing the past from both spatial and chronological points of view can lead to a greater awareness and depth of understanding of physical and human events, and is an essential ingredient in the interpretation of the world of today.
